Working While Studying in Canada

Post-Graduation Work Permit
Graduates from two-year programs or greater are eligible for a three year open work permit upon graduation, providing entry into many PR programs.

However not everybody needs a job offer in Canada to get a work permit. Open work permits are available to many persons including the partners of foreign students and workers, students, youth and the partners of Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents.
Pathway to Permanent Residence
Once a foreign worker in Canada has obtained 1560 hours of skilled work experience within a year, they maybe eligible to apply for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class. in addition, should they have an offer of full time employment from a Canadian employer, they may be eligible for nomination from a provincial nomination program.
